Jazz Organ Charts and Sheet Music!

Woohoo!!

Following is a list of charts and a couple of transcriptions. Some of them are transcribed from live performances not available on records. The list references records if the transcription was taken from a particular published recording. These are photocopies of pencil transcriptions, so not of professional quality, but they are readable. An asterisk denotes tunes that appear on the BT Productions video of Jack McDuff, but none ofthem are transcribed from that source. Many of the charts are simply leadsheets, showing all parts on the same line, with chord changes. Severalare available having all three parts written separately. Several more arerewritten for two-piece only (for my trio), with the third part missing.Several more, which won't be interesting to too many of you, have only the sax and guitar parts, with *no* organ part. These were all writtenoriginally for my own use, and assumed a knowledge of the organ part.Although there were different permutaions of alot of these tunes, the charts are
accurate as to the performances they were taken from,and have been approved by Mr. McDuff. The sheet music here is partly of historical interest, but certainly may be used for performancepurposes, and for learning about harmony and voicing. The high cost of some of these charts reflects the difficulty and time put into them, and the heretofore unavailability of this information. Mr. McDuff has gotten little compensation for his gigantic output of arrangements over his lifetime; I hope this will help him as well as helping you. __________________________________________________________________
